Take a meter rule and let each centimetre represent a year of your life. Hardly any lives belong 100 years and thus your life will end before you run out of centimetres.
Although the opening tone sounded slightly gloomy, in reality it is only a moment to reflect and gain perspective on your life. Were you to shade each block depicting some accomplishments and, for the future, your hopes and aspirations, there’s one shade that should be ever present. Assuming you took green to mean growth, be it physical, mental and/or spiritual, then that colour must be consistent (in presence but perhaps at varying levels). You can depict your entire life like that and create a visual of your life. In it there are “dark” moments of illness, of setbacks and other unfortunate events. It is important to realise how you reacted around those events. You are today, in some way, a product of those events and actions around it. As you fill those centimetres and edging towards the end, you discover the full picture. The more youthful, the greater the chance to set on the ideal course. But everyone can salvage even a part of their life. No matter the age, one decision can make so much more of a positive difference.
You are the painter and you chose the colours through your decisions and actions. You don’t have free reign in the universe, thus not everything will go smoothly. This chart illustrates how you set about your life and also aims to capture some reactions. The influences on your life will show through but the identification of those influences can be added as notes by yourself. Yet, it is important to remember that it was your decision (overall) to accept those influences.
I am not leaving you hanging, but rather I have left you with food for thought. Your next action may yet set the tone of your picture.
