The heart is pumping, the blood is flowing, there is life. Certainly, a dried up river does not have flowing water and at that point seem rather dead. Yet, many structure their lives on loving the inanimate, such as their cars, houses, phones, and not the living. I know that some actually believe their phones are living.
Life is for the living and saying it the other way round makes equally good sense: “the living has life”. Many of today’s problems are as a result of people inclining to that which is inanimate and distancing themselves from the living. Humans are social beings and, acting in a way which does not foster this, is detrimental in many ways starting of with your health and in creating an ideal society for progress. The opposite of living as true social beings is like people becoming robots, unable to reason and unable to show empathy and concern for fellow humans. Sure, there are introverts, and some are even recluses, but the overwhelming majority are not wired that (introvertive) way, while the norm being that there is having useful and beneficial human interaction. This norm is under threat with people living in silos and being isolated. This negative impact on human social life has, as an example, caused security issues. There is no closeness between neighbours and neighbourhoods, leaving communities ever more vulnerable and paying dearly for security services. Families are being further broken up as selfishness, as well as the love for the inanimate, dictate the way of life. Love is not shared because the emphasis is on wealth and careers. It may be that you see life this way but then you will tend to be more heartless and robotic. You do not see yourself like this and that is understandable. Action, though, is what will show where you are headed, and your mere words will not be enough.
Already you have made decisions in your life which are creating distance between people. Those who are concerned truly about their future and that of their families, will reflect. You act like you are on a conveyor belt taking whatever is being dished out, thinking that is life. In truth, that is not.
PS! It is time to reflect. If you think you have the answers, then that’s all good and well. Will you next step be the right one or will it be one to drain the last bit of life from your living?
