As she cast the pebble into the water ripples appeared on the surface of the lake. It lasted barely a minute and it disappeared. She took time to observe this and contemplated casting another pebble. Then she sat down and looked down at the peaceful water below. A wonderful moment to reflect while the surroundings are serene which has a deeply calming effect.

Were you to look at life and indeed relationships then you understand that life will cast pebbles in your direction. It may be people or it may well be the convergence of issues, but these are the pebbles that land in our pond and cause ripples. You noticed that when the pebble was cast earlier, the resultant pebbles lasted barely a minute. It is like that in life too that ripples ought not, for the most part, have an effect on your life. You must ride it out and calmly wait for the matters to be restored as before.

It may also be a wake-up call that you did not expect someone to throw a pebble in our direction. You cannot put up fences to avoid this because it will make life somewhat restricted. There is perhaps the chance to both strengthen yourself (in this case mentally) and, in some cases, have a suit of armour. That pebble that landed in your space may have been thrown innocently or perchance it carried hostility while it being an accident cannot be ruled out. It is your sense of peace that will seek to restore it without retaliation. Nonetheless,  you will put your guard/s on high alert. The course of action must be one that seeks peace for that has less of a chance of unintended consequences. Relationships, as strong as the bond appears, can be upset by a small pebble. Seek the solution that will bring peace for wars, in matters of relationships, literally mean “till death do us part”. The further reason for peace is that you are relaxed enough not to let existing relationships suffer, nor do you become “damaged material” because you are not prepared to move on and find new relationships. But above all, being forgiving and seeking to mend relationships must be the first prize before you consider a small ripple to be a tsunami.

Believe you me that every relationship has had at least one ripple, so you are not alone. If the ripples become like the sea at high tide, then certain action may be required like removing the pebbles or just being appropriate.
