The sober man is quiet and reserved as he carries on with his daily work, traveling to work and back home. This week he has been invited to an office party. He is looking forward to this and some socialising away from the office, albeit with much of the same office crowd. As is the norm at many-a-party, there’s alcohol available. After a few drinks, his sobriety starts to take leave of him and with his continued indulgence, he is rather inebriated. The normally quiet man has taken on a new persona, blabbering away non-stop. In fact, he seems intellectual on a level not really experienced in the office. He digresses and gives accurate and rather descriptive views of his superiors. It is as if he has been holding back and suddenly, because of his inebriation, there were no holds barred as he spoke his mind truly.
I know your first impression is to blame it on alcohol and, there is no doubt about the harms of alcohol. Yet, there is also an angle which you need to realise irrespective whether you consume alcohol or are a teetotaler. While this subject is quite lengthy, I will be brief. You filter information and through some form of training, you mute much of your thoughts. There is some good in doing that. You should know though, that the real good character is when the heart is in control. Using mind filters is primitive but it eventually impacts the heart. If it is good, then the heart will overflow in this way and light will emanate from you and, indeed, your character. However, if those filters are because of fear and similar negative emotive reasons, then the heart will become blackened and useless. Your character will be driven by your filtered thoughts and not by your pure being. The sober man was aware of his thoughts and applied those filters in almost robotic fashion. Deep down there were hidden truths. It took for him to be inebriated to remove those filters. The better way was to let his good character remove those filters. This means that every teetotaler will never speak his mind because his filters will always be on. Does such a person truly live and what example is he to others, including his family.
The increase in disease over the last century has been two-fold at least. Firstly, the lack of adequate healthy nutrition. Combined with this and compounding the impact, is the level of stress from which many suffer. Of that, the filter of the mind is a major contributor. Do the assessment for yourself and take back what is yours – there’s a message when you say “It’s MY Life” and getting to its true understanding.
The safest thing most people tend to believe is “to take orders and hope for the best”. That is because of fear in its different forms. The solution, however, lies closer to being upfront and engaging. In this way you learn and develop.
