Knowledge is power and information is the key to knowledge.  Information is not knowledge but merely an important ingredient of knowledge.

Over time you acquire information. Sadly, people attend institutions of learning (schools, etc) for information but there is no guarantee how much knowledge will be acquired. In simple terms, the useful application or the understanding of how to apply the information translates as knowledge. Information is merely data that is meaningless unless you can apply it. For the most part, you should be educating yourself every day even with information you have acquired a while back. Your personal development will be a means to better use information and acquiring knowledge is key to this process. It cannot be stressed enough that you don’t have to acquire new information on a subject every day but you can learn how to understand that information. A regimented school system is not the ideal way to learn although many can learn and move beyond the system. However, when a system is merely about disseminating information and turning the recipient of that information into a machine of sorts, then the system has failed you.

It is true that many who read this will not realise the reality of what I am saying. This in itself  inclines towards proof that the system has succeeded. The system has succeeded in reaching one objective of disseminating information but it has failed you as a person. For the majority of people, your strengths and weaknesses were never taken into account while you were schooling. You had to make choices, timeframes were forced upon you as if you are on a conveyor belt. Your development is something personal and not dependent on the masses and a conveyor belt. At the end though you are a product of a system. The question is whether there is an opening in your thinking which will allow you to re-examine your personal development. It is not merely about the job you have or don’t have but about the platform and springboard for your life. Information will not make you wise, but knowledge is what will play an important role to show even a little bit of wisdom.

Age does not bring wisdom but it is in taking knowledge to the next level that will show wisdom. You have to turn information into knowledge firstly. To do that you will need to develop a skill. Skills like this complete you are a person.
