Cold, windy, wintry conditions sound and feel like a winter of discontent, yet the fire of hell will be blazing hot and certainly not something with which you will be content.
It is true that excitement causes the heat to rise while dealing with someone who is cold by nature will make that relationship a little frosty. You speak of a warm feeling and that she exudes warmth with her caring and loving nature. Relationships, especially marriage, need love, caring and sharing to strengthen that bond. But marriage needs that little bit of quiet like the absolute silence in the middle of the night (snoring can sometimes change all that). Quiet, silence to overlook somethings that are not quite in place but needs you to bite your tongue. Everyone has an off day which may result in not being quite in sync with everything. Hold your tongue. And when it is your off-day, hold your tongue for fires are started by a mere spark. Let not that develop into thunder and lightning or a raging fire. Fire destroys and so much get lost in the blaze. That is the extreme of the wrong heat and a misuse of the word “warmth” in the marriage. Many marriages carry on because people tolerate their spouses, or they find another excuse to stay in the marriage. Each to his own and if that works, let’s not interfere. Then there are marriages that resemble war games. An important part of life is to spread love, be warm and caring. If you missed the marriage class to get some basic understanding of these matters, then find a way to be educated on the topic through relationship coaching, counselling or even a refresher class. Perhaps it is just you who can do better as an individual, then as a spouse, then a parent (maybe even a sibling or a son/daughter).
Be the warmth on a cold winter’s day and be the coolness in the peak of summer’s heat.
Be radiant when darkness sets in and be obscure lest you cause another to trip over their feet.
