A question may have a right answer and, therefore, any other answer is the incorrect answer. It may be that some complex examination question will award a partial score if certain requirements are met while the overall answer is incorrect. While life can be simple, almost all your actions and thoughts may be considered in the complex section. This means that although you have come through certain issues in your life, certain challenges, or even daily actions, it does not mean that you have actually done everything correctly.
Your life cannot be confined to a box where everything is micro-managed, but neither can it be a life of chaos and hoping for the right answer or result. In the simplicity of life lies answers which are generally overlooked. An easy, but you may consider silly, example is that the consequence of life is death. Thus, the word consequence raises another interesting word called “risk”. Risk is a real fact of life. You encounter it every day although you hardly use that word and, more often than not, only as it applies material things and wealth. You will agree that your actions have consequences. Therefore, to understand those consequences, you must be able to assess possible outcomes. Every action and thought have at least two outcomes. Still, you get in your car and consider only one outcome which is normally that you will arrive at your destination. This same person does the most outrageous things while driving such as driving through red traffic lights or not stopping at stop signs. If this is you then you are endangering others’ lives besides your own, and there are many consequences to such driving. But you are the good driver and do not do these things. However, you know other people drive recklessly. This means that there are consequences even while you obey the traffic rules. By now, you will realise, that consequences are all from your actions, but it may also be impacted by the actions of others. If you are cautious, then you are merely managing a risk. Managing a risk means that you have considered all the factors at play. The reckless driver is someone who does not consider the factors. These are people to avoid and, perhaps, their advice too.
The lesson is about being aware of the consequences. If you cannot see all the outcomes because it may be unclear, then risk management dictates that you avoid the intended action. Risk management further dictates that you follow your considered judgement and not the popular action and thought.
Do not drive badly because everybody else drives that way. Do not invest in something because everybody else does that. Study the possible outcomes and do the right thing. It is always about what is right and not what is popular or even convention.
