Spinning on its own axis while orbiting the sun, earth has almost complete another orbit. How time flies, yet it was barely a few weeks (hours for some) when you gave up on your resolutions for this year. Those few weeks felt like an eternity yet, here you are, saying “how time flies”. You have fallen short of some of your goals – especially those you gave up way back in January.
So as we take stock, the lesson that we can learn is that time does move swiftly. Thus hanging in for a little bit longer and persevering with your goal should not be all that painful. What is painful is that you’re likely to set the same goal or give in to your lack of ambition. In a year’s time, you will lament “where did time go?, what have I done?” Look to see those who have struggled but persevered and achieved while you were better equipped to achieve even more.
Your goals and achievements are yours to savour. Be grounded in your approach as you soar to new heights. The time you wasted in socialising (on Facebook and others) while you may have used your data and time sparingly, researching and learning more how to achieve your goal. Let time management be a goal too.
Don’t wish upon a shooting star, but be the shooting star as you improve your 2020 vision. Study to pass exams, be mature to be better parents, be compassionate and loving to be a better partner, work smart and do your best to progress in your career… and so much more .. like support Liverpool FC and You’ll Never Walk Alone and win some trophies.
The closing date for New Year’s resolutions is 31 December
