“I don’t know who you are anymore”. This may be a statement to someone close, like a family member or a friend. This may possibly also be a statement to yourself as you see your reflection in the mirror.

Imagine that it may well be the latter and you are addressing yourself. This statement reflects that you, as the addressed, have lost perspective on a matter, if not on life itself. The idea of being fake and creating your image and basing it on some celebrity or a fad, is to ignore your growth and development. Sadly, you are joined by so many who believe that it is to their advantage to be fake. And what does it mean to be fake? It is to build an image and a life which lacks foundation and solidity. It will come crashing down at some point. Being real and true to yourself is what will bring greater satisfaction and peace of mind. This does not mean that you will not encounter difficulty, but it does prepare you better for those moments. The colour fades on fake. Fake has no backbone. Fake has no true identity. So, what about you?

You will know your true worth when you are real and genuine. Sometimes you may think you are worth little but, right up front, you will appreciate that you will always be better than fake. Secondly, that you even if you do not understand your true worth, that does not make you any less worthy than you really are. Sometimes, it is just about connecting with the right people to show you the way or help you expose the gem that you are. And true people have humility and so much more. Your story is long and profound. Find the person or people to help you to write your story.

Don’t cover the cracks. Mend it.
