Every breath of fresh clean air you take has a pathway which benefits the body. Every bite of nutritional food you ingest has a pathway to nourish the body. Then how are the steps you take benefiting you?
There is an unambiguous word that is relevant here and should be so in your life. It is in the little things that you do meticulously and consistently, that determines your preparedness for life and indeed any form of success. This is called discipline or, more specifically, self-discipline. It includes matters of hygiene in brushing your teeth, washing or bathing, eating healthily and at reasonable times of the day. It includes your physical activity and exercise. It includes your time devoted for spirituality. It includes time for learning and education. Then there is your vocation, be it a student, an employee, a teacher, an employer or whatever other profession, job or voluntary work you do. It is in discipline that you maintain your physical body, your mental health and faith and spirituality. There is room to tweak certain routines and activities but in is in being consistent that it can qualify as discipline. You may argue that certain bad habits are also a discipline, but bad habits do have an opposite effect of self-discipline. Your progress in life and your success will not reach the heights it ought to even though others may see you as successful. Education is key to discipline. This education does not refer to academic education rather the education that will make you well rounded. The time has come, if not overdue, that you decide on and pursue real growth. You cannot be a human vacuum cleaner sucking up everything that is placed in your way, the comments of people, the choreographed news from mainstream media, the slithery words of the politicians. These are of the disciplines that will differentiate you from others who show their idea of discipline by wandering aimlessly and lacking discernment. Self -discipline is key to real progress and growth.
The benefits of discipline may well be considered the bedrock of your growth and success. The key to discipline is to consider your wellbeing and how best to achieve it. As such, take steps to solidify the part of your life. In need seek out a life-coach or someone as capable.
Discipline is the bridge between goals and accomplishment – Jim Rohn
