The common refrain is “I did that already” as the teacher explains a subject. It is true that you have learnt it before, but only some of it, and so you need to updated version thereof. You have to watch from the start, and there may well be a whole host of emotions until you get to the point of completion. The wise will contemplate, while some will be less than enthused by what had just happened.
Contemplation by way of reflection is one way of looking at life and note the lessons that were learnt, lessons that were supposed to have been learnt and even considering lessons missed. Lessons missed are not through bunking class or absent through any other reasons except that you have not grown sufficiently to understand it. By the same token, the lessons that you now realise that were supposed to have been learnt, you have now reached that stage of understanding but before this it may have been that you were not ready. Not everybody loves reruns but, at some point, it is inevitable. For now, you have choices on how to handle reruns, but I will note two here. The first is through mental experience where you reflect and note, even seeking clarity from experienced people and/or professionals. The second choice is to wait to experience the reruns. On a lighter, yet real, note you can look at marriage and see a recurrence of incidences and there is, for the most part, an inevitability about it, the incidences. (In marriage, if you never had a quarrel of some sorts, then you have a problem marriage. #justsaying)
Back to life’s lessons – there is no right or wrong way in the reruns of life’s lessons. It is about training and absorbing the lessons. Infusing these lessons into your life and moving forward. Falling and failing are not issues to be concerned about. It is about getting up after falling down. Of course, we always like to stay up, but failures are part of life. It builds character more than what success does. Success is relative and can be applied to every action in our life. It is already a measure of success that you have reached this point in life. Of course, having the pleasure of reading this piece must count as success too (said with a wide grin, of course). Reruns are reminders too for you, but it is not a point to stop or pause your life. Rather it must be the means to build and move on.
And in the next rerun of life’s lesson, you will star again. Enjoy
