That feeling when you heart sinks, cold shivers run through your very existence, the mind is likewise frozen and bright colours disappear and darkness and gloom overtakes. You become “colour”  blind with two colours remaining, black and a dark red.

There are only two things that will stop you from your intense fear: death or belief. But then you also have the fear of death, yet death will relieve you of that fear. Your problem is actually uncertainty because you cannot even predict your own death. Will you then live in the grip of fear for your entire life? Again that solicits a reaction that you are either brave or you have lost your senses. But bravery has a goal. Does you inclination to fear have a goal or are you merely staring into the deepest darkest black hole, the abyss. While you are reading this and fear is gripping you and don’t show the smallest sign of acknowledgement of your fear, you are a walking corpse. While you have intense fear, you are of no help to those around you since nothing  positive will be coming from you.

What do you need to do? You need to confront that fear and understand that there is, as powerful as that fear, another side to you. Fear is a weakness and you have that inherently. But strength of character needs training and, in some case, unearthing.  The body and mind must be in sync for ultimate results. You need to be out there in the training ground, pumping those muscles. Well that sounds all physical but it actually refers to your mind and heart muscles. It is important to be able to read the signals of the risks and dangers that you face. That can only be done with understanding and having the ability to identify it and to read it.

Right now, you and the world are gripped by fear. The question is “what are you concerned about?”.  Social media have continued the narrative of the official media but you are nowhere near getting an answer except more fear. This is perhaps the most ideal example of your state of mind. You have been in other situations of fear but this single event has caused fear in the vast majority of people. Thus, what will cause you not to fear because the situation in itself will prevail tomorrow? There is a solution to this for those who are uncomfortable with fear. Remember the story of the bully? He doesn’t go away after he has eaten your lunch, does he?

The role of a coach or a personal development manager is to address these issues and realise that part of you that is underdeveloped or hidden or even suppressed.
