Everyone enjoys change as long as that change is a positive in their lives or has little or no impact. Expecting only positive change is expecting others to act according your wishes and desires. When this does not happen you consider the change a negative.
Change is inevitable. Just as the date on the calendar keeps moving forward so too everyone looks to their tomorrow when they plan. The operative word is “plan”. Your effectiveness or your willingness to accept change is based on how well you prepare yourself. The tussle between your plan and the greater scheme of things should be a tussle between your ideals and what the world (around you) view is. The world view is fairly powerful and you cannot, as an individual, overcome this view and the direction it is taking. However, there is no need for you to be overwhelmed by it. Your ability to plan (with assistance too) and prepare your way forward to achieve the goals you have set, is crucial. Change will come and if you are not prepared for it then you will be washed away as if a tsunami has hit you.
There is one truth that is relevant today: lies, propaganda and fake news abound – don’t be sucked in by it, but be cautious. More than ever, the need to understand risk is important. Risk is not only about financial markets and losing money. Rather risk is about your future. The key point is that you, and not anyone else, must be in control of it. Your right to choose an option is to make the decision by yourself, not by anyone else. The second point to never lose sight of, is that in life there are few winners, few champions. Winners are those who do things differently and stand out from the masses. Therefore, following the masses blindly is to make you one of them (the masses) and lessens your ability to be a winner.
Change is inevitable. It is what you make of it and whether your own plans will set you apart from being swallowed up in the monstrous tidal wave.
