It is but a moment in time. The impatient may struggle in a wee period of upheaval and difficulty. The wise will have prepared for such a time. The contented will be patient and find ways to navigate through this period.
More and more people are inclined to a career more than just a job. The old forty-year plan is so rare these days, it belongs in a museum. For those too young to understand, simplistically it means that a person started working at the age of twenty and forty years later he retired from the same company and possibly the same job. Technology is a big reason why this rarely happens now. But with technology and a whole host of financial reasons, companies downsize, capsize and are bought out by competitors (but not limited to competitors), jobs are no longer guaranteed for the length of your working life. You may lose your job through retrenchment, you may lose a contract, you may suffer from health problems (with stress level being at an all-time high). All this impact.
Furthermore, when most young people start out in life, that is working life, they have unrealistic goals. This is largely because of a lack of guidance while the only information they really get is some exaggeration from friends. Life becomes chaotic such that success is no longer clearly defined but merely a whim. It will be worth your while to take some time out and focus on the process to stay on top of it all. Taking time out requires a plan though. A plan requires a goal. It is about what you wish to achieve and what you need to do about it. So, what about the future? There are things to be considered.
