“They don’t make them like they used to” is a common refrain from the older folk. Now, some may jump to the conclusion that this applies to humans as well. Long story short, it does not apply to humans except that the environment and psyche is different from before. As it relates to marriage, then the good and the not-so-good of marriage are as old as the hills except the environment has brought about greater dangers.

It will take many hours to cover it all, but the useful remedies are all the same. The sour taste is often from advice from the wrong quarters. The right spice is from those who understand the dynamics of timing and quantities, etc. So is it with many things in life, but marriage certainly can do with some sugar and spice. If you lack zinc, you may lose your sense of taste. It does not mean the food is bad or the loss of taste is life-threatening. Marriage will have its moments too but finding the ideal treatment is important before getting carried away and amputating any part of the marriage. Nor are artificial treatments ideal as the side effects are greater than you may imagine. Stick to the natural wholesome remedies which will aid longevity in health and well-being. The importance of your marriage in your life will determine how you approach many things in your life. Therein lies the need for balance and the understanding that the weight of each component of life and marriage may differ. Enough of you taking advice from posts and video clips without engaging and seek true and thorough solutions. Your marriage is not a fast-food or it ought not to be. It must be like a good cook painstakingly patient in order to serve the ideal meal. You have that role to play in your marriage. Before you ask, “why me?”, your spouse ought to read the same message and then both have a role to play. The recipe says it takes two imperfect spouses to make a perfect marriage. Take your marriage seriously and tame the ego.

There are few failed or doomed marriages. Rather, there are more people who fail to make sure they can cook a meal with the ingredients at their disposal because outside influences, like social media, distract them and they lose focus.
