Atoms bond together through chemical bonds, which are attractive forces that hold atoms together. A lesson in chemistry which you missed, yet its significance can help explain attraction between couples. But then there is another chemical reaction that weakens the bond.
In relationships, when the going gets tough, the parties involved get territorial. Each one looks at his/her “balance sheet” which includes both material and emotional assets and liabilities. Of course, the main liability is the other party. There is much to be said for the reasons that cause the weakening of the bond. Suffice to say that the main reason is external, in some way or another. The bond may also not have been strong from the start in that the two parties were not compatible, an aspect that is often overlooked. This simply means that the initial attraction was amazing but there was no hope of longevity because the bond was never going to be stable. The volatility may be mild but heavy enough to disturb the bond and cause breakage. Marriages are known to be taped together at times for many reasons, including “for the sake of the children”. There are better fixes than that, but the reluctance to go down that route is often because more truths will be exposed. There should be amnesty for what is brought out into the open. Many times, this just means that these things were said but, through mediation and reconciliation, each party are made to be more attentive. Here’s the thing though. It needs more than one session, but the minimum should be a “truce” if there is fighting, and better still there should be an agreement of reconnecting and be like the atoms that meet anew to form those bonds.
Aye. Failure is only an option if you don’t try. Without mediation, one party may speak more than the other or both speak over each other, or no one speaks or too much ‘friends and family” interference. It is your marriage, your relationship. What is it you want?
